Rook Portrait

This original oil painting is part of a series of small works on metal leaf. I’ve attempted to catch the colours of the plumage which are never just black alone. Rooks are one of my favourite corvids.  
This one is 6 x 6 inches and is painted on a wood panel and finished with gloss varnish. All materials used are of the highest archival quality.
